Find Chrome in the list and swipe up on it to close it. On Android, at the bottom of your phone’s screen, tap or press the recent apps button. A chat with Google Support rep reveals a possible workaround to this issue. Google introduced a tab grouping feature to Chrome within the past year that is a life saver if you're somebody who always has a zillion tabs open at a time. Luckily, there might be a workaround to this issue after all. This is another pro tip rather than a setting to change, but it's incredibly useful.
